Come Hang Out With Us This Weekend At Tulsa LitFest

Rumor is that we're "sponsoring" an "event."

Can you believe The Pickup's been running for three months now?

We made it this far, in spite of ourselves. Since our little business went live in January we've gone in to hostile environments, ate entirely too much food, survived a snowstorm and read along as our contributors accidentally dose themselves with spicy pepper powder in misguided attempts to connect with their heritage. We might even make it another three more months!

Toward our continued survival, Alicia, Zack and I are doing a business thing this weekend that's also a community thing. We're pleased to share that we're a sponsor of this year's LitFest! The festival will take place over venues across Tulsa from April 24-27 with over two dozen free events that celebrate local literature, film and creativity. This year's keynote speaker is Reginald Dwayne Betts, and the event lineup includes live readings, performances, competitions, craft talks, workshops, film screenings and more.

Speaking of events: we're sponsoring Trivia Night on Friday at Heirloom Rustic Ales, to which you can RSVP here (it's free to attend). The theme is "literary" and it's loaded with prizes: the team with the best name gets free subscriptions to The Pickup for a year, so if you're not a subscriber yet now's your chance. The three of us will be there along with hosts Ana Maddox and Aubrey Green and it figures to be an especially good hang.

We'll also be participating in the book fair at Fulton Street Coffee & Books on Sunday from noon to 2pm alongside many other terrific local writers, so please don't be a stranger. We might even be handing out cards for discount subscriptions all weekend if you find one of us.

If you liked this story, please share it! Your referrals help The Pickup reach new readers, and they'll be able to read a few articles for free before they encounter our paywall.
