Open Thread: I’m Begging Someone To Talk To Me About Severance

Every Friday, we turn The Pickup over to the readers.

Source: Apple TV.

Readers, I'm using my privilege as the arbiter of the Open Thread to divulge a media-consumption fact about myself: I’m terribly obsessed with Severance.

I ignored it for years; it suffered from its proximity to Succession (which I despised, and dumped after 3 episodes) and, knowing nothing about Severance’s plot, I had no reason to investigate it.

Had I only known that it’s a gut-wrenching sci-fi thriller about work and power! I might have tuned in earlier.

In retrospect, I was lucky in my waiting: I streamed the entire first season just before Season 2 aired, so that I didn’t have to suffer the devastating “SHE’S ALIVE!” lag time between the first and second season.

It seems to me that a great many people are watching this show right now; I’m happily surprised about that, given the show’s depth.

So that leads me to ask: Who’s watching? Is Severance over- or under-rated? What do you think will happen in the finale? Who are you rooting for? Who will win Mark between Helly, Gemma, and Helena? What is Irving after? Will Dylan G’s wife cheat on Dylan G with Dylan G?  Does anyone forgive Cobel? Will Milchick, in a moment of stress, fuck up his paperclips again? Tell us what you think in the Comments below. (All I know is, once this is all said and done, I’m billing Ben Stiller for therapy hours.)

As always, feel free to disregard this prompt and talk about anything you want. It’s your website today, after all.
