Pick Of The Week

Tulsa Opera: The Tragedy of Carmen
Friday, February 21 at 7:30pm & Sunday, February 23 at 2:30pm
Tulsa Performing Arts Center, 110 E. 2nd St.

Gonna be hot in the Williams Theatre this weekend. Tulsa Opera doesn't usually perform in the TPAC's smaller spaces; hearing these voices up close promises to be a scorching experience. This 90-minute version of Bizet's classic opera, adapted by legendary director Peter Brook, focuses on character and emotion more than spectacle. Get there early for a pre-show talk, flamenco dancing, and sangria in the lobby, and keep an eye out for a community table with resources on intimate partner violence.
