It’s Probably Bad That The Woody Guthrie Center Keeps Selling Out Of Stuff That Says “Fascist”

Right? Guys? Guys??

Things right now seem, uh, pretty bad.

Students are getting disappeared off the street by masked men under the purview of the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, for the alleged crime of speaking out about Israel’s massive and methodical bulldozing of Palestine.

In February, Trump purged the Democratic appointees of the Board of the Kennedy Center—one of the most prominent and important arts centers in the United States—in order to install himself as board chairman, announcing on TruthSocial his desire for “a GOLDEN AGE of American Arts and Culture,” saying: “NO MORE DRAG SHOWS, OR OTHER ANTI-AMERICAN PROPAGANDA — ONLY THE BEST.”

Meanwhile, unelected sniveling court eunuch Elon Musk is doing Nazi salutes—leading to plenty of copycatting—and refusing to apologize for them or deny that he’s doing them

So it’s maybe not shocking to learn that right now, the Woody Guthrie Center can’t seem to hold onto items with the word “Fascist” on them.

The Center confirmed to The Pickup in an email that they’ve seen a staggering 200% increase in first quarter revenue from items with anti-fascist messaging, over the same timeframe in 2024: “This Machine Kills Fascists,” “All You Fascists Bound To Lose,” that sort of thing.

Stuff like this.

The Woody Guthrie Center also reported to us an 80% increase in general merchandise revenue over the same period this year, as opposed to last year.

“Traditionally, the first quarter is the slowest for merch,” said WGC’s Zac Fowler. “But not this year.”

Gee, I wonder why!
